A minimum of 10% of the purchase price, less the reservation fee, is payable within 14 days of signature.

The balance may be secured by cash payment, an acceptable bank guarantee, approved bond finance, or a combination of these, depending on the sale agreement. If bond finance is used, the balance must be secured within the required period after bond approval, and payment is made on registration of transfer.

A sale on terms linked to another transaction would need to be specifically agreed in the deed of sale. If the purchase is subject to bond finance, the seller may continue marketing the stand and may give the purchaser 72 hours’ notice to make the sale unconditional if another acceptable offer is received.

Before registration, you may not resell the property, cede your rights, assign your obligations, or otherwise transfer the transaction. After registration, a later resale may be subject to the seller’s contractual right of first refusal if this applies in your deed of sale.
